On October 8, the head of the Kotayk Regional Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee, Hovhannes Chalabyan, submitted a petition to the Yeghvard seat of the Kotayk Regional Court of General Jurisdiction, requesting the judge to impose a two-month detention as a preventive measure against Garik Hakobyan, who is more commonly known by the nickname Luna's Garik, and Beno Sargsyan, residents of the city of Hrazdan.

 

Both individuals are suspected of firing shots from a firearm at two patrol officers of the Kotayk Regional Police's Patrol Service, 1st platoon, on October 5 in the settlement of Kaghsi, Kotayk region, who then fled in a "Hyundai" vehicle with Russian license plates.

 

According to Shamshyan.com, after the closed court session conducted by the court president Gegham Margaryan and returning from the deliberation room, the court granted the investigator's petition, and the suspects were transferred from the court to the relevant prison of the RA Ministry of Justice's Penitentiary Service. The court also made a strict decision limiting any contact, visits, phone calls, and the opportunity to use the phone. The "Hyundai" was also found.
