The application for prosecution in the case of a teacher's violence against a student at one of the secondary schools in Gegharkunik Province has been granted, and a decision for arrest has been made. This was reported to 1lurer.am by the Investigative Committee.

 

“According to the report received on October 6, 2026, regarding the apparent crime at the RA Investigative Committee, on September 30, during class, a teacher at Vardadzor Secondary School hit a student with a pointer for speaking, after which, when the child fled to the corridor, the teacher went out and, hitting the minor with her hand, dragged her back to the classroom.

 

A criminal case has been initiated at the Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on the grounds of causing severe physical pain or severe mental suffering to a minor.

 

Based on sufficient evidence obtained during the preliminary investigation, the investigator submitted a request to the supervising prosecutor to initiate public criminal prosecution against the teacher, which was granted.

 

A decision for arrest has been made against her.

 

The preliminary investigation is ongoing,” the Investigative Committee reported.

 

 

 

It is reminded that a video had circulated on the internet showing how a teacher at a secondary school in one of the villages of Gegharkunik Province used violence against a second-grade student.

 

A criminal case was initiated based on the report received regarding the circulated video.

 

According to the Investigative Committee, the case was initiated on the grounds of causing severe physical pain or severe mental suffering to a minor.
