On October 5, in Tehran, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, was received by the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.

 

Also present at the meeting were Ara Shahverdyan, the head of the Armenia-Iran Friendship Group in the Iranian Majlis, and his deputy Geghard Mansuryan.

 

The importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation was emphasized as a significant component of the political dialogue between Armenia and Iran.

 

The interlocutors noted with satisfaction the high level of relations based on mutual trust and friendship between Armenia and Iran. It was emphasized that the relations between the two neighboring countries are of a strategic nature, and consistent and open dialogue is a crucial guarantee for their development.

 

Ararat Mirzoyan and Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf discussed the ongoing programs of cooperation in various fields between the two countries. The active work on the development of infrastructure connecting Armenia and Iran and ensuring the smooth flow of cargo transportation was highlighted.

 

Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the prospects for the development of the railway network as a result of the implementation of the TRIP project, which will provide new opportunities for all countries in the region.

 

The interlocutors exchanged views on further promoting cooperation and transport connectivity as an important factor contributing to the strengthening of peace and the well-being of peoples.
