tert.am․ Western countries supported the CP, this was not mentioned by the PACE, it is unfair, it spoke of Russia's support. This was stated by Levon Kocharyan, a member of the "Armenia" faction, during a press conference regarding Robert Kocharyan's criminal case:

 

"I believe the report on foreign pressures is somewhat unfair, clearly distinguishing Russia, while only briefly addressing the interventions of Western countries, because in the case of Russia, there were statements about adopting the EU course and its consequences—without a direct addressee—while Western countries, for example, France and the United States, provided very direct support to the specific 'Civil Contract' and Nikol Pashinyan. Frankly, I have a serious question about how much the statements regarding Russia had a positive impact on the opposition, and I am convinced that they had the opposite effect."

 

"In other words, from the perspective of influence, my perception is that the other cases of intervention had a much more positive impact on the current government. Overall, according to the summary of the report, the elections were assessed in a positive light, not counting the remaining violations, and it is precisely as a result of this that the geopolitical clash between the West and Russia has emerged. By the way, everything is viewed from this angle now, the violations related to democracy, human rights, and the rule of law issues are all considered from this perspective," Kocharyan noted.
