armtimes.com Due to an elevator malfunction, about 20 people have been trapped in Berlin's «Funkturm» television tower.

 

Of the visitors, 15 remained in the tower's restaurant, while 4 were on the observation deck located about 126 meters above the ground.

 

The trapped visitors were unable to descend using the emergency stairs, which consist of several hundred steps. Rescue teams considered several options, including the use of a lift.

 

Eventually, specialists from the elevator manufacturing company managed to switch the device to emergency mode, after which the people were able to descend at a low speed. The rescue operation lasted about an hour and a half.
