The National Security Service of Armenia reports that on September 29, the State Security Service of Azerbaijan informed the National Security Service of Armenia that a serviceman from one of the Azerbaijani military units had left his place of duty under unknown circumstances. 

 

It is not ruled out that he may have illegally crossed the border of the Republic of Armenia. After that, the competent authorities of Armenia and Azerbaijan conducted relevant search operations.

 

On October 1, at 14:15, a call was received at the 112 operational management center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, reporting that a citizen of Armenia had been shot in the leg in the Shaki settlement of the Syunik region.

 

Operational groups from various divisions of the police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were dispatched to the scene. Urgent measures were taken to clarify all circumstances of the incident.

 

It was established that the crime was committed by an Azerbaijani serviceman, who has been arrested.  

 

The details of the incident have also been communicated to the Azerbaijani side. A criminal case has been initiated in the Investigative Committee of Armenia regarding the incident.
